VANCOUVER, B.C. — Nir Dubnikov became The Oppenheimer Group’s newest sales representative on October 14, when he joined the marketer’s Newark, Del. location.
Dubnikov will specialize in enhancing Oppenheimer’s greenhouse-grown tomato, pepper, and cucumber business in the Eastern U.S., according to Bill Poulos, the company’s Newark sales manager.
“Greenhouse produce has grown to represent over a quarter of Oppenheimer’s total volume in recent years,” Poulos said. “We see an opportunity to serve our customers in this region better with our top-quality line of greenhouse items. Nir has the expertise to help make that happen.”
Oppenheimer represents premium greenhouse growers in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
While greenhouse produce is Dubnikov’s top priority at Oppenheimer, his experience has also prepared him to market other items in the company’s repertoire. He comes to Oppenheimer after seven years in the industry, most recently serving as the category manager for hothouse and imported products at Topkatz LLC at the New York Terminal Market. In that role, which he held from February 2006 through March 2008, he specialized in procurement and sales of greenhouse as well as a full range of other items. Previously, Dubnikov was a national sales manager for Agrexco USA Ltd. of Jamaica, New York from February 2001 to February 2006. The parent company, Carmel Agrexco, is Israel’s largest fresh produce exporter.
Dubnikov holds an M.B.A. from Manchester University in Tel Aviv, Israel, and a sociology degree from Tel Aviv University in the same city.
