Doug Grant
Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer
Doug Grant has over 25 years experience in information systems management. He joined The Oppenheimer Group in 1995 as director of information technology after spending 12 years at the British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA) as a programmer / analyst, systems programmer, technical support manager and product and corporate systems manager. He was appointed chief information officer in 2003 and was promoted to be our vice president and chief operations officer in September 2006.
Through his service at Oppenheimer, Doug has led the implementation of state-of-the-art information technology systems, keeping our company at the forefront of the produce industry in this field of expertise. Doug has since taken on executive responsibility for information technology, operations, quality control, manufacturing, transportation, supply chain management, grower relations, and food safety. He also has oversight responsibility for our Santiago, Chile office.
Doug is currently a member the PTI (Produce Traceability Initiative) Leadership and Executive Council, the PMA Supply Chain Efficiencies committee, and the GS1 Canada Food Services board. He has authored numerous white papers on key topics facing our industry: including fresh produce traceability, e-commerce, RSS (Real Simple Syndication), RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), data synchronization, and supply chain efficiencies.
Among other education credentials, he holds a BBA and MBA from Athabasca University in Alberta. At the 2004 Canadian Produce Marketing Association convention in Calgary, Doug Grant received The Packer’s “Produce Man of the Year” award for outstanding contributions to industry technology initiatives. |
